George Cox are proud to announce that they have won the British Apparel Export Award for 1999 in the "Accessories" category. The ultimate accolade in the clothing industry, past winners of these prestigious awards have included Katherine Hamnett, Paul Smith, Gossard and Aquascutum.
The awards, which were presented on 18 January 2000 at a Gala Dinner in London by HRH the Princess Royal, were created in 1986 to acknowledge the contribution made to the UK economy by designers, manufacturers and retailers in the clothing and knitwear industry. The innovative designs and professional approach of Northamptonshire based George Cox, one of the UK's most respected footwear manufacturers, have led them to become one of the strongest import footwear brands in Japan - a position that they have now been steadily consolidating for the past six seasons.
"It's a brilliant way to start the 21st Century," says Adam Waterfield, managing director of George Cox, a family company that is approaching its own centenary. "It's great to have our achievements recognised like this, and to be able to announce a good news story for British Industry.
