GEORGE COX SHOES WINS SECOND MAJOR EXPORT AWARD

George Cox, one of the UK's most respected footwear manufacturers, have added to their success in winning the British Apparel Export Award earlier this year by now being awarded the 2000 Queen's Award for Enterprise, in the International Trade category.

This prestigious award, which was officially announced on the Queen's birthday on April 21st, is given to those companies that have been judged to be amongst the best in the U.K.

The innovative designs and professional approach of George Cox have led to this Northamptonshire-based family company becoming one of the strongest import brands in Japan - a position they have been building towards for the past six seasons.

"We're absolutely delighted," says Adam Waterfield, Managing Director of George Cox, and great-grandson of the company's founder. "To win one Award alone was tremendous, but to win two in the same year is unbelievable. Receiving the Queen's Award is great recognition for all the hard work put in by everyone in the company, and has given us an immense boost."
