GEORGE COX SHOES WINS SECOND MAJOR EXPORT AWARD

George Cox, one of the UK's most respected footwear manufacturers, have added to their success in winning the British Apparel Export Award earlier this year by now being awarded the 2000 Queen's Award for Enterprise, in the International Trade category (more).

One look at our range of shoes and you'll realise that George Cox has both feet firmly set in the twenty first century. Take a second look though, (at the the fine grain leather, the natural kip linings and the Goodyear welted soles) and you'll see we haven't forgotten our past.

Since 1906, our factory in Northamptonshire has been making shoes to uncompromising standards. Each pair is as immaculately constructed as the last. And all, in our humble opinion, are a step ahead of the rest. Our strong sense of family tradition hasn't held us back. To the contrary. You'll find George Cox very open to new ideas.

The fact that we refuse to churn out shoes by the millions gives us a distinct advantage. We are able to offer you shoes that specifically fit your needs. No doubt that is why so many outlets around the world have carried the George Cox brand for so many years. Not to mention the independent retailers who have come to us for their "customer own label" brands. Names like Robot, Blue Moon, Dr. Adams and John Fluevog, for example. Even in the fashion industry George Cox has developed a solid reputation. We've turned designs into reality for John Moore, Lawler Duffy, Katherine Hamnett and Vivienne Westwood, no less. In fact, George Cox has been seen on catwalks in virtually every fashion centre in the world.

And as our shoes now carry the Goodyear Welted Seal of Excellence, you know you're getting the finest workmanship and materials, as well as designs. It all goes to show that, at George Cox, we try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. It's the only way we can be sure you get precisely what you want. When you want it.

1999 celebrated half a century of non-stop production of the famous George Cox creeper. To mark the occasion, George Cox introduced a limited edition "Golden Anniversary" creeper.
